Remember that rallies can make a difference. Even if you are only 3 people, you can get your message across. Please consider doing this for the sake of not only Kareem, but in the name of freedom of speech as well.
Update - We’ve just been informed that two representatives from RSF will come to Cairo on 18-19 Feb. to meet the Minister of Justice and other officials about Kareem.

Yes this should be done in the name of freedom of speech as well as Kareem. It is appalling that in this day and age any one would have to face such horrific treatment. Being jailed in Egypt is horrible. It is not humane as our US prisons are. Many die of torture, lack of food, rat and roach infestation and hazardous health conditions which could lead to Hepatitis B or worse.
I pray Kareem is freed and that for once a Muslim run country shows compassion instead of intolerance.

[…] As we just stated on our Free Kareem campaign, there will be a worldwide demonstration on the 15th of Feburary. Rallies have been confirmed in NYC, Washington, London, Ottawa, Rome, Bucharest, and quite possibly Chicago. As I said in the post, Remember that rallies can make a difference. Even if you are only 3 people, you can get your message across. Please consider doing this for the sake of not only Kareem, but in the name of freedom of speech as well. […]

If there is indeed a demonstration in Chicago, I would really like to know about it so I can try to attend.

We may still have rallies in Paris, Berlin, and some other cities. ANYONE WHO CAN HELP should try to organize or attend one. It is hard to take off time in the middle of the day when you are working at a job, but it will help one person to be able to enjoy the freedom to go to a job, rather than to sit in a prison cell (or worse). I will try to put people in contact with Constantino, Andrew, and the other good souls who are helping to get information on how to organize a dignified, respectful, and effective demonstration. I can be reached at tomgpalmer@tomgpalmer.com. Best to all.
