Just yesterday I was reading the Sierra Leone's Civil War affair: the UN stood still, along with the so told civil world, until the bloody job was done, then self-pinned a gold medal on his chest as if the conflict ended by their will and deed. How can I expect a real act of freedom from them ?

These aren't the days of Roosevelt promoting the U.N. on the basis of protecting the Four Freedoms. Thanks to the Cold War battles in the U.N. that resulted in the admission of every petty dictatorship, it is the tyrants who outnumber the democracies that hold sway in such battles. Why, then, should anyone still consider the U.N. as "a legitimate international body that embraces human rights and steps up to protect them" rather than the opposite?
